My daughter will be 5 years old this summer so we are totally focused on Kindergarten readiness these days. There is such a wide range of skills and knowledge that is expected for Kindergarten these days and it is hard to know what to focus on but you know your child better than anyone!

In our case, I've looked through some lists of what kids should know for Kindergarten and looked at her preschool report card for signs of where we should try to help her improve.

On the home front, we can tell that our lax morning routine could use some work. I made a printable to help her get used to the things we have to do every morning before school.

If you'd like a copy for yourself, I made three different skin tones so you can customize it for your own child.

The set of printables is available for free in the Free Printables Section of the Lalymom Shop

Recently I was reading about the debate between brushing your teeth before eating versus after and came across an article explaining why you should brush before you eat in the morning. For that reason, I put the toothbrush symbol first. We need to change our habits with regards to that. Just like they talk about in that article, we have always thought we should brush after. Now we know!

So the idea here is to print out the printable, then when the ink is dry you can run in through your favorite laminator. Then you can add yarn, pipe cleaners or ribbon for the hair. I taped ours on but you could instead punch holes in the page and tie the ribbons through the holes. Or use a glue dot.

Next you can grab whatever you have around the house for your child to interact. Play food for breakfast, an old toothbrush, a square of paper towel and a doll hair brush. If you don't have any of those, there is an extra sheet with the clip art on it, you can cut those out instead.

Dry Erase markers work great on laminated pages. Your child can draw on crumbs on the face, dirty hands and teeth and then clean them off with the right tools.
