Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip Recipe – Inspired By the Peanuts Movie
As a kid I have so many fond memories of watching the Peanuts. It's been so special to introduce my kids to the older movies but now that there's a new one coming out, they get their own! Today's post is a super yummy, super simple Peanuts spin on a classic peanut dip recipe. Thank you SO much to Albertsons Safeway for sponsoring this post- my family loved the outcome and the inspiration! We've been snacking on it while watching the Peanuts Movie trailer on repeat!
Peanut butter dip is a favorite of mine and it has been even before I had kids. I love finding different ways to dress it up and dress it down. This twist takes it from your classic peanut butter dip to a super yummy peanut butter cup treat! I think it would be perfect for a Charlie Brown birthday party- or any day with your favorite peanut butter lover!
We paired this with apple slices and Horizon Snack Grahams, but whatever you like to dip in peanut butter dip would also go great with this. Grapes on toothpicks, banana slices, pound cake bites, whatever you want!
We hopped by Jewel for these ingredients and everywhere you look there were price tags for Peanuts Movie related products. Since we were making this recipe to go along with the movie we bought three related products and snagged a super fun trick or treat bag for free. Bonus- in Chicago we no longer have plastic grocery bags so we popped all of our items into our Charlie Brown bag at the store and headed home!
Bonus Peanuts Hint: Head over to Jewel's Peanuts Movie Sweepstakes page by October 31st to enter to win a trip to Snoopy's House or a Peanuts Movie Themed Xbox Console!
Shopping done, contest entered and armed with a few simple ingredients I knew we could kick one of our snacks up a notch and have some fun while doing it. This recipe is no-cook so it's perfect for little kiddles to help with. If a few ingredients are sampled along the way…well…a few more smiles will be added to the recipe with it!
Now onto the recipe!
Charlie Brown Chocolate Peanut Butter Dip Recipe
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, divided
1 pudding cup (3.25 oz each) Snack Pack Chocolate Pudding
1 pudding cup (3.25 oz each) Snack Pack Vanilla Pudding
5 Tablespoons Horizon Milk, divided
Chocolate syrup, to taste, plus more for decoration (optional)
- Combine 1/4 cup peanut butter, 2 1/2 Tablespoons milk and the chocolate pudding in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20-30 seconds until the peanut butter begins to melt. Stir until it is smooth. Taste for chocolateyness (it's a word!) and add chocolate syrup if desired, stirring until fully incorporated. Once smooth and as chocolatey as you like, pour it into your serving bowl.
- Repeat the process with the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter, remaining 2 1/2 Tablespoons milk and vanilla pudding. No chocolate needed here! Pour the vanilla pudding portion on top of the chocolate portion and gently smooth it out.
- Pour a single zigzag line of chocolate syrup across the top of the dip and use the tip of a spoon to spread it into the familiar Charlie Brown t-shirt pattern!
Voila! You're done!
My kids tucked RIGHT into this one! It was totally kid-approved, they would have dipped cardboard in this stuff (not advised!). Once you dip into it a few times it gets a super cool swirl pattern on the top too as a bonus!
