Heading on a campout? Pack your pressure cooker for these perfect Instant Pot Camping Recipes. As long as you have access to electricity, pressure cookers are a great way to cook at campgrounds. I already have a list of favorite Instant Pot Dinner recipes, but these meals below lend themselves to campout cooking. FYI: I have added a few affiliate links to this post for easy shopping.

Our latest campout was a girl scout camping trip with 2 adults and six girls. One of the other scout leaders mentioned that it would have been smart to bring an Instant Pot. What a great chance to teach the girls how to meal plan, meal prep and use an electric pressure cooker.

We loved cooking in foil packets and cooking on the fire too. But sometimes you are low on firewood or just want to get dinner going as soon as you get back. If you don't want to cook over an open fire, the instant pot is such a great choice for quick meals for a group.

A slow cooker is another “one pot meal” option, but if you leave for a hike or activity you never know what could happen. The pressure cooking is the clear winner based on cooking time alone.

Tips on How to Use Your Instant Pot for Camping

Before we get to the recipes, read through these quick tips for camping with your electric pressure cooker.

• It may sound obvious but clean your instant pot before you go. Every bit of cleaning you need to do will make it harder to get your meal going.
• Ensure ahead of time that your campgrounds have electricity. If not all spots are adjacent to an outlet be sure to reserve one that is. Be prepared with a long outdoor extension cord that allows for 3 prong plugs.
• Prep and chop your ingredients before you go, and pop them into your cooler in sealed gallon zip-top bags.
• Double seal meats like chicken or ground beef in case of leakage.
• Store all your cooking gear in one suitcase or plastic tote. I love this suitcase method from the article, How to Travel with Your Instant Pot.
• Remember to pack your favorite instant pot cleaning supplies.
